Doug Temple

Doug TemplePGA Certified

Doug is a Ferris State University Graduate in Professional Golf Management.  Doug founded the “Golf for Life” program in 2003 and has introduced thousands of kids to the game of golf and the values it embodies.  Doug is specialty certified through the PGA in Golf Operations, is certified in the Professional Golfers Sports Psychology Program, and is actively perusing becoming a PGA Master Professional.  Mr. Temple sits on the Michigan Section PGA committee for Growth of the Game and is the Head Professional at Indian River Golf Club in Indian River, Michigan.  “The game has given me so much – The “Golf for Life” program will give kids a chance to experience this great game and everything it has to offer”

Pete Bishop

2010 Assistant Camp Director – Pete’s teaching background spans over 50 years.   He was a teacher and administrator in the Saginaw school district and former director of golf at Green Acres Golf Course.  Pete’s passion is helping kids reach their goals on and off the golf course.

Jim Ankenbrandt

2010 Assistant Camp Director – Jim has been a “Golf for Life” instructor for five years  and truly brings a love of the game to area youth.  Jim has been the golf professional  at Bay City Country Club, the Timbers, and Woodland Hills Golf Course.  Jim began his golf career over thirty years ago at the famous Oakland Hills Golf Course – home of the PGA Championship.  Jim’s goal is to show youth how golf is a game for a lifetime!

Dave Woofter

Dave Woofter is a Ferris State University Professional Golf Management graduate and is a class A PGA Professional. Dave also holds a Masters Degree in education. Mr. Woofter has been working with the “Golf for Life” program since 2004. Dave’s teaching philosophy is based around building strong fundamentals and helping students have FUN on the golf course.

Quin Kane

Quin Kane
A student at Michigan State University and studier of the game.   Quin is in his second year of teaching “Golf for Life” programs and enjoys seeing the kids – Get Hooked – on the game.  Quin was a successful high school player and attended the Hilton Head Golf Academy for gifted players.  Quin has a passion for competition and competes locally and regionally in top tournaments.

Greg Harrant

Greg has been teaching the “Golf for Life” curriculum for three years.  Greg works throughout the winter teaching golf in afterschool programs throughout Saginaw, MI.  Greg knows the kind of dedication and commitment it takes to be successful in Golf and Life and he enjoys helping kids reach their goals.

Casandra Kareus


Casandra has been a staple in the “Golf for Life” Camps since 2005. She works closesly with the instructors, volunteers and campers. Casandra enjoys the game and making friends at camp. She’s looking forward to seeing everyone in 2010!
