History
The Bullseye Golf Foundation, a 501 (C) (3) not for profit community based organization was formed in 2003 to introduce its “Golf for Life” programming to youth in the Saginaw Valley area in Michigan. The foundation’s mission is to improve the lives of participants through a rounded education in recreation, core values, and life skills. The “Golf for Life” program focuses on low income and challenged youth and young adults between the ages of 6 and 16. The unique curriculum teaches the game of golf (history, mechanics, and on course application), core values (caring, sharing, respect, responsibility), and life skills (creating positive relationships, self-sufficiency, decision making skills).
All of which mold successful individuals and assist young people in realizing their dreams. Organizations like the YMCA, Boys and Girls Club, Boy Scouts of America, Special Olympics, and the Big Brothers Big Sisters and multiple after school programs support the program and help provide more than 1,000 participants.
The “Golf for Life” programming in the Saginaw Valley serves as a model. As the programs mature they will be made available in communities throughout the state and county. We believe that golf is an excellent way to teach children and young adults respect, responsibility, caring, dedication, and develops character, self worth, potential, and a sense of purpose. Our motto is “Building Life Through Golf.” PGA professionals, community leaders, and volunteers serve as mentors, teachers, and friends. The programming is taught throughout the year and sessions are conducted at community centers, golf courses, schools, and colleges. Youth between the ages of 6 and 16 can participate in various “Golf for Life” camps and summer leagues.
The Bullseye Golf Foundation programming addresses the need for youth and young adults to learn in a positive non-threatening environment. Without your support participants in the “Golf for Life” programs will never experience the camaraderie, sportsmanship, and love that they need. The “Golf for Life” program would not exist without support form the local community, businesses, individuals, and corporations.
